a riddle

Update, 02 May:

Congratulations to my sister, Meredith, for answering the riddle and winning the shirt from Threadless! I know, however, that most of you are still working on it, and I'm not even close to having the final site design complete yet, so I'm going to go ahead and post the hints anyway to build the momentum until the site launches.

The above image gives some insight into the theme around which THE ISH v5 will be designed. I have doctored the image in some way to make it relate to my identity/the identity of the site. The first person who can tell me what I have done and why will win a free t-shirt of their choice from Threadless. If no one answers, I'll post a new hint every week until I can no longer provide a hint without giving away the answer.

Look for THE ISH v5 in the maybe-hopefully-somewhat-close-to-near future.

I would give attribution to the photographer, but that could be used to solve the riddle too easily. Rest assured, the photo is royalty-free. • Those I have already explained the site concept to are exempt from the competition. Sorry :)
